It is then dyed in a warm, rust-hued Manjistha dyed — an ancient root known for its rich colour and Ayurvedic depth.

Over this naturally dyed base, the fabric is adorned with Kuari motifs — symbolic and striking — each hand-printed using the mud-resist technique. In this meticulous process, artisans stamp the motifs with a clay-resist paste that protects select areas from absorbing dye. What remains after washing is a stunning contrast between pattern and pigment, crafted entirely by hand.
