Morthuthu dye saree

This 5.5-meter beauty is dyed using a mineral-rich Morthuthu dye bath, a traditional method that brings out deep, grounding tones from nature’s own elements. The fabric is pre-treated with Harda — a natural mordant extracted from myrobalan fruit — ensuring that the dyes bind beautifully, while enhancing their richness and longevity.

Over this earthy base, a field of hand block printed floral motifs comes alive, created through the mud-resist technique — where each design is painstakingly stamped by artisan hands using natural clay paste, protected through multiple dye stages, and revealed only when the final wash brings out the hidden bloom.

The saree is finished with versatile handcrafted tassels, thoughtfully placed to add fluidity, charm, and movement — making it easy to dress up or down, depending on the occasion.
