Made from 100% pure cotton, this piece begins its journey in a bath of iron rust and jaggery, a natural dyeing process that brings out profound, earthy tones through slow fermentation. The fabric is first treated with Harda (myrobalan), a fruit-based natural mordant, which allows the dye to bind more richly to the cotton — resulting in a shade of deep natural black that holds both elegance and depth.

Each motif is applied by hand using the mud resist block printing technique, where a clay-based paste is used to imprint delicate patterns that resist the dye during the process. Once washed, the motifs are revealed in soft, clay-tinted tones that contrast beautifully against the dark backdrop — a quiet celebration of craft and intention.
